Background

I contributed to a major refresh of the UCCS Program Finder website, a tool designed for prospective and current students to easily explore and select degree programs. The project’s main purpose was to enhance user experience (UX) and ensure the interface met UCCS Brand standards. While working for UCCS Web Services over a two-month period, I received initial student-generated wireframes. I actively refined these concepts, ensuring all designs aligned with brand guidelines and an intuitive user flow. A part of this process was adding elements that I thought worked well and adding my own personal touch. I created the static high-fidelity prototype in Figma, focusing heavily on mastering components for consistency and efficient iteration.

Challenges

My primary challenge was attempting to create an interactive design with expandable cards that correctly adjusted the surrounding layout. While I did not achieve this advanced interaction within the project deadline, as I am still building my interactive Figma skills, I successfully learned how to present my designs professionally and observe the process of translating my design into production code.

Results

A production-ready blueprint used to build the live UCCS tool.
