Background
This project was a critical refresh of the UCCS ENT Center website. Its purpose was to update the visual design and improve the clarity of information for event-goers, patrons, and UCCS staff. As a member of the Web Services team, I completed this work over a couple of weeks. After my boss designed the initial homepage, I focused on creating new branded subpages and a redesigned event page. My process involved researching theatrical genre conventions to inform the layout and integrating small interactive elements into the design. This was achieved through the use of Figma to create a digital design.
Challenges
A significant challenge was balancing my personal design preferences with specific client requests, particularly regarding color schemes and page layouts. This experience was valuable, as I learned to prioritize client needs and functional requirements over my own aesthetic choices, helping me stretch my adaptability as a designer.
Results
This is the final prototype that was used to create the production code. Shown below are screenshots of the Figma designs and files. The designs were created with WCAG AA accessibility in mind.
